Nachos-Salsa

Recipe Name - Homemade Nachos, Salsa & Cheesy dip

Introduction – We all enjoy nachos with salsa and cheesy dip. This combo is easy to make and you can really enjoy this whenever you want. So, let’s learn to make 3 recipes in one video.

What all do we need?

For Nachos:

  1. Corn flour 130 gm
  2. Wheat flour 65 gm
  3. Black pepper powder ¼ teaspoon
  4. Red chili ¼ teaspoon
  5. Carom seeds ¼ teaspoon
  6. Oil 2 tablespoon
  7. Salt – as per taste
  8. Turmeric powder ¼ teaspoon
  9. Water – Luke warm

For Salsa:

  1. Finely chopped tomatoes - 4 medium size
  2. Finely chopped onion – 1 medium size
  3. Finely chopped jalapenos - 1
  4. Finely chopped green coriander – ½ cup
  5. Lemon juice – 2 tablespoon
  6. Black pepper powder – ¼ teaspoon
  7. Salt – as per taste
  8. Chopped Green chili – 1 (optional)
  9. Sugar – ½ teaspoon
  10. Garlic powder or minced garlic - ¼ teaspoon

For Cheesy dip:

  1. Processed cheese – 20 gm
  2. Butter – 1 tablespoon
  3. Salt – as per taste
  4. Milk – ¼ cup
  5. Refined flour – ½ tablespoon

Method –

  1. Start with kneading a dough for nachos. Mix corn flour, wheat flour, salt, red chili powder, carom seeds, black pepper powder & turmeric powder well together.
  2. Now add oil and mix everything well together. Start adding Luke warm water little by little to knead little stiff dough. Nachos dough is little stiff so be careful while adding water.
  3. Keep the dough aside for 15-20 minutes for resting.

  1. Start making salsa now, mix chopped tomatoes, onion, jalapenos green coriander, lemon juice, black pepper powder, salt, green chilies, sugar & garlic powder together. Taste to understand if you need more of salt, lemon juice, pepper powder etc and increase accordingly. Do mash this mixture to release water content.
  2. Cover salsa and keep it aside. I strongly recommend you to keep salsa overnight before consuming as the acids from tomatoes & lemon juice will do the magic to make the homogeneous tangy salsa.

  1. Time for making cheesy sauce. Take a pan, melt butter on medium heat. Add refined flour and little toast it and then add mix and cheese.
  2. Let cheese melt to get the creamy silky sauce. Feel free to add milk to get the right consistency. You can also add little bit of salt but be careful as processed cheese is salty already.
  3. You can also add little bit of food color to get the nice color however same is completely optional.
  4. If you are facing difficultly in melting cheese to get the silky consistency, you can use blender to get the right consistency.

  1. Now let’s start making nachos. Knead the resting dough once again.
  2. Use little oil on rolling board and hands and start rolling the dough to the thin chapatti (bread). You can also use parchment paper or keep on moving the rolling board if facing difficulty in handling the thin chapatti of the dough as it is prone to break.
  3. After rolling it, cut it into triangular pieces and fry. Do not fry in too hot oil as nachos color will change and they can burn as well. Use low to medium hot oil for frying them for 3-4 minute or till they are nicely done.
  4. You can add more salt, pepper powder, red chilies powder and chaat masala or dried mango powder on top of nachos to increase taste further. This step is dependent on your taste buds.

  1. Your nachos, salsa & cheesy dip is ready to be served. Enjoy with friends & family.
